Internal linking — high-level pointers (local fallback)

galvantula tells you where the link graph is weak — orphans, buried pages, generic anchors. The detailed, current internal-linking policy — how the site’s hub/spoke architecture is meant to work, the house anchor-text rules, and per-finding fixes — lives in the team wiki (set OUTLINE + OUTLINE_API_URL, scope with GALVANTULA_WIKI_COLLECTION, and the report links it directly). This file is the minimal high-level fallback for when the wiki isn’t configured: direction only, deliberately not step-by-step, so there’s no detailed content to drift out of sync with the wiki.

• Orphan pages — link every important page from a relevant hub or category page so crawlers and users can reach it.
• Click-depth — keep key pages within a few clicks of the home page; flatten deep paths to important content.
• Descriptive anchor text — say what the target is about; never “click here”, “read more”, or a bare URL.
• Avoid exact-match over-optimization — vary anchor text naturally; don’t point one keyword at one page from every link.
• Link new content in — when you publish a page, add contextual links to it from existing, related pages.
